Sintered mesh filter cartridges show clear advantages in petroleum, chemical, and high-temperature gas filtration scenarios. In a recent refinery project, I replaced traditional pleated filters with sintered mesh, extending service life from three months to eight months.
The principle of sintered mesh is to sinter multiple layers of stainless steel wire mesh together at high temperatures, creating a three-dimensional structure. This structure ensures filtration accuracy while maintaining excellent strength. Unlike ordinary filter cartridges, it will not deform or collapse under high pressure.
Sintered mesh can be repeatedly cleaned and reused, with filtration performance hardly degrading after cleaning. However, sintered mesh has limitations. Its cost is significantly higher than ordinary filter cartridges. If processing viscous or sticky liquids, it is prone to clogging and difficult to clean. Additionally, sintered mesh accuracy typically starts at 5 microns and cannot achieve ultra-precision filtration. Select based on your actual working conditions – do not blindly pursue high performance.
