Oil and Gas Field Filtration Solutions

Oil and Gas Field Filtration Solutions

Oil and gas field filtration environments are extremely harsh, with high sulfur content, high salinity, and high pressure, placing extremely demanding requirements on filtration equipment. I have accumulated experience using metal filter cartridges in multiple oil and gas projects in the Middle East and China.

For sulfur-containing media, corrosion-resistant alloys must be used. Ordinary 316L is prone to stress corrosion cracking in wet hydrogen sulfide environments. 904L or higher-grade Hastelloy alloys should be selected. Filter cartridge weld joints must undergo heat treatment to relieve stress.

For seawater desalination or waterflood injection filtration, salinity severely corrodes ordinary metals. For these working conditions, I recommend titanium alloy filter cartridges. Although the cost is higher, service life is longer, making it more cost-effective overall.

Another common application is filtration after natural gas dehydration. Natural gas often contains trace liquids and solid impurities, directly affecting subsequent compressor and pipeline equipment. Filter cartridges here require high precision, generally between 0.1 to 1 micron, while being able to withstand high pressure, typically above 10MPa.
